Venue Hire at POMRC

Port Moresby Racquets Club offers its premises for hire — whether you are planning a private or corporate event, or need a location for filming, photography, and promotional or publicity content.

Choose the application that matches your request. Event bookings and media applications are reviewed separately and require prior approval before use.

How to Book the Venue

1. Submit Form

Fill out this venue hire form with your event details and requirements

2. Await Approval

The Social Director and Club Committee will review and approve your request

3. Complete Payment

Pay the venue hire fee (K1,300.00) and refundable bond (K500.00) to secure your booking

Note: Your booking is only confirmed after approval and receipt of full payment. We recommend submitting your request well in advance of your event date.

Intimate courtyard for up to 50 guests

Note: Each venue has its own unique charm and capacity. The Events Lawn can accommodate up to 200 guests, while the Squash Courtyard is perfect for more intimate gatherings of up to 50 people.

Fees

  • Venue Hire: K1300.00 payable

    (venue booking is confirmed when payment is made in full)

  • Bond Fee: K500.00 payable prior to the day

Inclusions

  • 1x portable BBQ set with full gas cylinder
  • Club security provided (minimum 4 Guards)

Key Terms and Conditions

Important Points:

  • Bond Fee (K500.00) is refundable subject to compliance with terms
  • All drinks must be purchased at the POMRC Club Bar
  • Maximum capacity is 200 guests
  • Venue must be vacated by designated ending time
  • No outside food or drinks allowed

The hirer agrees to “make good” any damage caused to the facility during the hire period.

Filming, Photography & Publicity at POMRC

Port Moresby Racquets Club premises are available for filming, photography, and promotional content for media and commercial or publicity purposes — including newspaper, television, social media, and other promotional use.

Prior approval required: All requests to film, take photos, or conduct publicity events at POMRC must gain prior approval. Applications are submitted to the Tennis/Squash Director for final approval by the POMRC Committee Executive.

Application Fees

  • Half Day: K500
  • Full Day: K1,000
  • Damages Liability Bond: 50% incorporated in the application fee

Requirements

  • Applicant is responsible for leaving the area in a clean and tidy manner
  • If the location is changed or damaged, the applicant is responsible for restoration and paying for any repairs
  • A valid public liability insurance certificate is required before approval is granted
